The opening ceremony of 2020 ASEAN (Guiyang) "Belt and Road" Culture and Tourism Exchange Week kicked off on September 17 in Guiyang, Guizhou's capital, attracting delegates from embassies and consulates of several countries in China, business insiders from tourism and cultural enterprises and associations. H.E. Raja Dato’ Nushirwan Zainal Abidin, Ambassador of Malaysia to China attended the event and addressed keynote speech on the opening ceremony.

Despite the influence of covid-19, Ambassador Nushirwan expressed his confidence with the burgeoning tourism relationship between Malaysia and China in post-pandemic period. And he added that the ASEAN-China ties would be further strengthened as both sides would celebrate the 30th anniversary of ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations next year.

Ambassador Nushirwan conducted pavilion tour with H.E. Wang Shijie, Vice Governor of Guizhou Province and Guiyang municipal government leaders.

Also present at the event were Mr. Azlimi Zakaria, Consul General of Malaysia in Nanning, immigration attaché in Beijing and Tourism Consul in Guangzhou.
