Ambassador of Malaysia to China gives special lectures at Guangxi Minzu University

NANNING 18 September 2022 – As part of the official programme during the 19th China-ASEAN Expo, H.E. Raja Dato’ Nushirwan Zainal Abidin, Ambassador of Malaysia to China, gave a lecture on ASEAN-China Relations before students majoring in Bahasa Melayu and faculty members involved in ASEAN studies at Guangxi Minu University.  

 

 

The Ambassador highlighted the millennium-old friendship between Malaysia and China as well as their close cooperation in different sectors including economy and trade, investment and higher education. He added that, apart from these, the two sides to further enhance collaboration in advance technology, digital economy, and vaccination etc. 

 

He further shared his insights on China-ASEAN relations and the growing development of the two-way cooperation which has brought great benefits to both Malaysia and China.

 

 

During the Q&A session, the Ambassador reiterated the government’s effort in promoting the use of Bahasa Melayu, not just nationwide, but also internationally. And he welcomed the students to pursue further studies in Malaysia and thus make contributions to the development of Malaysia-China relations in the future.  

 

On this occasion, the Ambassador also present Malay books to Guangxi Minzu University and Guangxi International Business and Vocational College which are the only two higher institutions in Guangxi offering Bahasa Melayu programme.

Also in attendance were Consul-General Mr. Azlimi bin Zakaria, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre Mr. Chen Dehai, and official from Education Malaysia in Beijing.
