On 06 December 2023, Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail attended a courtesy meeting with H.E. Lan Tianli, Governor of Guangxi People’s Government, at Liyuan Resort, Nanning. The Malaysian delegation was headed by the Honourable Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf bin Yusoh, Chief Minister of Melaka. The Melaka delegation was in Guangxi from 5 to 8 December 2023 for a working visit.
The Melaka state government is taking efforts to explore new investment opportunities in various sectors with China, in particular for the promotion of Visit Melaka Year 2024 amid the adoption of mutual visa-free policy starting from 1 December 2023.
Also in attendance were H.E. Miao Qingwang, Vice Governor of Guangxi People’s Government, Datuk Lim Ban Hong, Special Adviser to the Chief Minister of Melaka on Investment, Datuk Wira Abdul Razak bin Abdul Rahman, Executive Councillor for Tourism, Heritage, Art and Culture Melaka, Datuk Md Azhan Bin Samat, Deputy State Secretary of Melaka, and other senior officials of the state government and local government agencies.
