On 20 August 2024, Consul General Mr. Phadil Ismail attended a courtesy meeting with H.E. Wu Qiang, Executive Deputy Governor of Guizhou Province, at ASEAN Conference Centre during his participation in the 2024 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (CAECW) in Guiyang, Guizhou Province. The meeting was followed by welcome banquet hosted by the Executive Deputy Governor.
Prior to the courtesy meeting, the Consul General also paid a courtesy call on Mr. Tao Pingsheng, Director General of Guizhou Foreign Affairs Office, at the ASEAN Conference Centre.
During the meeting, the Consul General was briefed on the general information of CAECW and the major development and resources of Guizhou Province. He echoed that both sides should maintain regular high-level visits, and he extended his appreciation for the invitation to the 2024 International Conference of Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports. He also expressed that Malaysia looks forward to engaging more with Guizhou Province in multitude of forward-looking areas, such as TVET and digital economy, which were among the agenda of the leaders of the two countries during Chinese Premier Li Qiang’s visit to Kuala Lumpur in June 2024.
