On 6 June 2023, Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail, attended the opening ceremony of the Media Partners Forum 2023 at the International Convention Centre, Liyuan Resort.
The event was co-hosted by China Media Group (CMG) and the People’s Government of Guangxi to mark the 20th anniversary establishment of the China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership and the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, attracting over 200 participants from China and ASEAM member states.
During the forum, the Consul General, together with Acting Consul General of Laos in Nanning and other two officials from CMG, officially launched the ASEAN Zone in the EtherealSound App of CMG, which is an online audio platform focusing on the sharing of news, culture and relevant information from 10 ASEAN member states.
The Consul General was also interviewed by Bernama, who participated in the event. He encouraged the media from both sides to explore more new ways of delivering information about Malaysia and China to the locals from each sides through digital platforms, new technology and other social media platforms.
