On 10 December 2025, the Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail participated in a Guangxi tour program organized by the China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat for ASEAN missions in China.
The tour featured visits to Runjian Wuxiang Cloud Valley Intelligent Computing Center and the Nanning Practical Training Base of Guangxi Fire and Rescue Brigade. It offered an opportunity for the participants to learn about Guangxi's artificial intelligence (AI) development and application in different sectors, such as intelligent computing, emergency rescue, and explore collaboration potentials with Guangxi.
As several Chinese provinces and regions are vowing to accelerate the adoption of AI across key industries and public services, Guangxi recently released recommendations for its 15th Five-Year Plan, outlining a development model of "R&D in Beijing-Shanghai-Guangzhou, integration in Guangxi, and application in ASEAN." The document calls for stronger efforts to develop its AI across various sectors and expand its collaboration with ASEAN in AI and digital economy.
The event was also attended by Mr. Wang Jicai, Secretary General of CAEXPO Secretariat, Consuls General of Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand in Nanning and members of diplomatic corps from other countries.
