On 29 November 2024, Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail hosted a dinner in honour of Mr. Song Haijun, Deputy Director General of Guangxi Foreign Affairs Office (FAO), at Nanning Shangri-La Hotel.

The Consul General reviewed the accomplishments and development of China-Malaysia relations in the past year, with highlights including the exchange of high level visits between the two countries. Malaysia is also committed to pushing for higher level connectivity between China and ASEAN through fulfilling its rotating ASEAN chairmanship in 2025.
Mr. Song commended the Consul General for his role in strengthening the relationships between China and Malaysia in all dimensions since his assumption of office in 2023. He also took the opportunity to promote the strengths of major cities in Guangxi.

Both sides also agreed to work closer in promoting Malaysia-Guangxi cooperation and build a stronger Malaysia-China relations for the next 50 years. Also in attendance were Vice Consul Ms. Farah Eliza Mansor and the FAO’s Consular Division Director Mr. Zhou Hele.
