In the afternoon of 23 April 2024, Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail participated in a meeting between Malaysian delegation led by H.E. Liew Chin Tong, Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Malaysia and Mr. Zeng Zhong, Deputy Secretary General of China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) Secretariat, at China-ASEAN Mercantile Exchange (CAMEX).
The meeting discussed the progress of the upcoming 21st CAEXPO which is scheduled to be held from 24 to 28 September 2024 in Nanning. The delegates were also briefed on the new changes of the CAEXPO, such as 1-day extension of the Expo, resumption of City of Charm, new session showcasing strategic emerging industry etc.
Prior to the meeting, the delegation also toured Malaysian Pavilion, Halal Food Pavilion and pavilions of other countries at CAMEX, which is an online and offline platform showcasing and selling products from China, ASEAN member states, countries from RCEP members and those along BRI.
