On 16 October 2025, the Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail received a courtesy call by Mr. Wang Jicai, the Secretary General of China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) Secretariat, at the Chancery. Mr. Wang succeeded Dr. Wei Zhaohui as the new head of the Secretariat in September 2025.
During the meeting, the Consul General congratulated Mr. Wang on his appointment to resume office. He commended the pivotal role of CAEXPO platform in fostering trade and economic exchanges between China and ASEAN.
Both sides agreed to continue working closely to further leverage the platform's advantages, seeking innovative approaches to enhance bilateral economic ties and create new opportunities for shared development.
