In the evening of 17 December 2024, Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail participated in the courtesy meeting with H.E. Yang Jinghua, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Guangxi People’s Congress, at the International Convention Centre of Liyuan Resort, Nanning.
During the meeting, Vice Chairman Yang extended appreciation to all the Consulates in Nanning for their constant support to Guangxi’s opening-up development and the work of Guangxi People’s Congress. She also highlighted the collaboration between Guangxi and ASEAN countries and in areas of economy and trade, connectivity, industrial parks, people-to-people exchanges, as well as the engagement between the local legislative assemblies of the two sides.
The meeting was part of the program organized by Guangxi People's Congress for diplomats from ASEAN missions in Nanning, in an effort to present the practices of Chinese-style democracy in Guangxi and the openness of Guangxi to ASEAN countries.
The program started with a tour to the Great Hall of Guangxi People and the deputy liaison station of Panlong Community under Liangqing District in Nanning in the morning, where the delegation learned about the working mechanism of Guangxi People’s Congress as well as the duties and rights of its deputies.

The program also included fields visit to a tangerine planting base in Wuming District, Nanning and the Pinglu Canal in Lingshan County, Qinzhou, which showcased Guangxi’s achievements in rural revitalization and its fast development through advancing better connectivity.
