YAB Deputy Prime Minister II and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof took the opportunity to conduct site visit to local water management and waste-to-energy projects during his 4-day visit in Nanning, Guangxi.
During the visit to the Green City Water Eco-Environment Science Education, the Deputy Prime Minister was briefed on the sewage treatment process and techniques, recycling system and the safe reuse of water in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

His packed scheduled also included a visit to Nanning Jianning Kangheng Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. which is a local-based and state-owned waste-to-energy company processing nearly 40% of the city’s domestic waste.

During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister toured the company’s treatment facility, and was briefed on its performance in waste collection, reuse and energy conversion.

Guided by the Water Transformation Roadmap 2040, or AIR 2040, and the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), Malaysia is committed to achieving a sustainable and inclusive energy system. Malaysia is also exploring ways for deepening bilateral cooperation with China in multifaceted areas such as green energy, water management and circulation economy.
