On 05-06 July 2025, the Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail participated in the Eco Forum Global (EFG) Guiyang 2025, at Guiyang International Eco-Conference Centre, Guizhou Province.
Themed "Harmonious coexistence between humans and nature -- global collaborative development for green transformation," the event brought together more than 800 guests including foreign political leaders, scholars and industry experts from 62 countries and regions. It also featured twenty sub-fora, covering key topics on sustainable development, climate change, biodiversity conservation and environmental governance.

The Consul General also made a presentation on the Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation in Malaysia during the 2025 Beautiful China Construction Practice Forum – one of the sub fora of EFG.
He highlighted the megadiversity of Malaysia which hosts 70% of the known species of the world and the country’s high share of forest and tree covers in land area. He then shared the insights on Malaysia’s primary challenges and overcoming barriers in forest conservation and sustainable management.
The Consul General further highlighted Malaysia’s proactive efforts and practice, at both domestic level and international level, to conserve its natural resources and protect its biodiversity while sustaining its economic growth and development.
He then urged all the participants to work towards safeguarding Sustainable Forest Management and ensuring forest connectivity, contributing to the global goals of sustainable development, climate change mitigation and resilience.
The Consul General also took the opportunity to welcome the participants to visit Malaysia and experience the glory and majesty of the country’s forests.
