In the morning of 21 June 2024, Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail participated in Forum for Opening-up Cooperation and Development of Application-oriented Universities, at the Nanning University.

In his address, the Consul General stressed that Malaysia has always been supportive of China’s effort in enhancing people-to-people exchanges and higher education cooperation through multilateral platforms such as ASEAN. He added that Malaysia is looking forward to collaborating with China by having wide ranging initiatives in education, as Malaysia is working towards developing into an international higher education hub.

During the event, several MoUs were inked between Nanning University and four Malaysian higher institutions namely Putra Business School (PBS), University of Science (USM), Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL).

Also in attendance were Professor Zhao Yufang, Deputy Director General of Guangxi Education Department, 12 experts and scholars from UTAR, IUKL, USM, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Multimedia University (MMU).
