Guangxi Holds Annual “Two Sessions”

The Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail participated in the opening ceremony of Guangxi’s annual “Two Sessions”, namely the 3rd Session of the 13th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) on 12 January and the 3rd Session of the 14th People’s Congress, on 13 January 2025 in Nanning, Guangxi. The “Two Sessions” were attended by over 600 deputies, respectively.

The Consul General was interviewed by Guangxi Daily after the Guangxi’s CPPCC, where he shared his insights on the proposals by the deputies from the perspective of a diplomat working in Guangxi.

According to the government work report delivered by Governor H.E. Lan Tianli at the 3rd Session of the 14th People’s Congress of Guangxi, the region has managed to pursue progress while ensuring stable economic growth, with GDP estimating to expand by 4.2% last year. In 2025, Guangxi is targeting economic growth of around 5%, with priority on boosting consumption, advancing new industrialization, fostering new quality productive forces, and pursuing a more proactive strategy of opening up.
