Malaysian Food Festival in Guilin, Guangxi

On September 5th, Consul General Mr. Azlimi Zakaria attended the Malaysian Food Festival which in Guilin. The event was organized by Tourism Malaysia and MATRADE with a collaboration with Shangri-La Hotel in Guilin.

 

The event, which started on 4th Sept to 18 Sept was aimed to introduce and promote Malaysia’s multicultural cuisines to China.

 

“The beauty lies in the fact that Malaysia is a multi-racial country and each cultural group has its own dishes to delight you, either they are Malay, Chinese, Indian etc., all present their own unique flavours. And this is reflected and fused in the art of cooking,” said the Consul General during his speech at the opening ceremony.  Malaysian Chef based in Guandong, Chef Terry was assisted with resident chef of Shangri-La Guilin in preparing to delegacies.  

 

The event has received wide coverage by local media with a huge number of patrons have flocked to the food festival to savour the distinctive flavours of Malaysian cuisine.
