On 28 August 2025, the Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail held a meeting with Mr. Wei Zhuangzao, Deputy Director General of Guangxi Financial Office, at the Chancery.
The Consul General echoed the point raised by Mr. Wei on the critical role of financial service in facilitating the economy, trade and investment cooperation between China and ASEAN. He also expressed Malaysia’s support for the upcoming China-ASEAN Financial Cooperation and Development Forum which will be held on 18 September 2025.
According to Mr. Wei, the Forum is aiming at providing a platform for financial regulators, financial institutions experts and corporate leaders from China and ASEAN to share their insights on AI-powered financial development and innovation.
