On 25 March 2026, Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail held a meeting with Mr. Wu Haoling, Deputy Director General of the Industrial Park Reform and Development Office of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, at the chancery
During the meeting, the Consul General was briefed by Mr. Wu on the progress made in 2025 of the industrial parks in Guangxi, including the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park (CMQIP). The Consul General reaffirmed the importance of CMQIP in facilitating Malaysia-Guangxi partnership and even Malaysia-China relations. Given the successful experience of Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park (MCKIP) in attracting investment from various countries, he suggested that a similar and diverse approach could be adopted to broaden the investment of CMQIP beyond Malaysia.
Both sides also discussed ways to enhance Malaysia-Guangxi ties through promoting the development of CMQIP and MCKIP, and agreed to continue to maintain regular engagement with each other for future collaboration and joint initiatives.
