In the morning of 15 May 2025, the Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail participated in a working meeting between the Consulates General of Cambodia, Malaysia and Vietnam in Nanning and Guangxi Department of Commerce (DOFCOM). The meeting was chaired by Mr. Yang Chunting, Director General of DOFCOM.
The meeting was held with the view to advance and implement the Joint Statement issued during President Xi Jinping’s State Visits to Cambodia, Malaysia and Vietnam from 14-18 April 2025.
During the meeting, the Consul General expressed his appreciation to DOFCOM for hosting the meeting. He praised President Xi’s recent visit to Malaysia, highlighting the importance of exchanges of high-level visit between the two countries. He welcomed the commitment made by the leaders of the two countries to continue to support the iconic “Two Countries, Twin Parks” project. He urged both sides to work together to promote more investment in the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park through leveraging the 6th meeting of the China-Malaysia "Two Countries, Twin Parks" Joint Cooperation Council, and looking at the successful implementation of the twin parks in Kuantan, Malaysia. The Consul General emphasized that the Consulate General will continue to support the Department’s activities and initiatives that would lead to improving the multifaceted cooperation including economy, trade and agriculture between Malaysia and China.
