On 20 January 2025, Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail held a meeting with Ms. Li Yan, Director of the Information Office of Guangxi Government and Ms. Li Xiangping, Deputy Chief of International Communication Centre of Guangxi Daily, at the Chancery.
During the meeting, the Consul General was briefed by Director Li on the media exchanges between Guangxi and Malaysia over the past years as well as their major activities in 2026. He commended the significant role of media in promoting mutual understanding between different cultures. He looked forward to continuing collaboration with media from Guangxi and hoped such cooperation could extend to other sectors such as tourism, people-to-people exchanges and trade.
He highlighted that Malaysia is seeking to enhance collaboration with China in high-technology, new-energy, and semiconductor sectors. Both sides also discussed the potential collaboration in AI between Guangxi and Malaysia, as well as its application in different sectors, such as smart cities, learning institution, and mining.
At the end of the meeting, the Consul General recorded a video in which he extended his warmest New Year greetings and best wishes to the people of Guangxi through Guangxi International Communication Centre, Guangxi Daily.
