In the evening of 03 February 2026, Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail participated in the 2026 Nanning New Year Reception hosted by Mr. Zhang Xiaoqiang, Standing Committee Member of the CPC Nanning Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Nanning Municipal People’s Government, at the Na-Lotus Hotel.

Remarks by Vice Mayor Zhang Xiaoqiang
During the remarks by Vice Mayor Mr. Zhang Xiaoqing, he highlighted Nanning’s performances for 2025. The City’s economy advanced steadily despite challenge, marked by a booming AI industry and a strengthen role as an open hub. Imports of ASEAN fruits through Nanning grew by 20%. Cultural and people-to-people exchanges also deepened, including events commemorating the 26th anniversary of friendly exchanges between Nanning and Ipoh, Malaysia, and experience-sharing sessions in AI and urban management with the States of Perak and Kedah in Malaysia.
Prior to the banquet, the Consul General was interviewed by media from Nanning International Communication Centre, where he shared his feelings and experience for the traditional Chinese New Year celebration. He also took the opportunity to extend his warmest greetings and a galloping Year of the Horse to the People in Nanning.
