
NANNING, 21 September 2019 – The 16th China-ASEAN Expo commenced in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from 21-24 September 2019. The event served as a platform for China and ASEAN to interact and form a network of trade and investment cooperation.
Exhibitions and activities at the 16th CAEXPO were expected to promote China-ASEAN cooperation in various fields including trade, investment, digital economy, science and technology, finance, e-commerce and tourism.
According to the organizers, 2,848 enterprises participated in this year's expo to showcase their products, an increase of 2.4 percent from the event last year. Notable participations were including industry leaders, Fortune 500 companies and notable private businesses. Malaysia’s participation had included 167 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that showcased their products and services at the Malaysian Commodity Pavilion.
The Minister of International Trade and industry, YB Datuk Darell Leiking, presided over the Malaysian delegation to the Expo with the theme: “Building the Belt & Road, Realizing Our Vision for a Community of Shared Future” other high level participations included Chief Ministers and EXCOs from Selangor, Sabah and Pahang.
