In efforts to weather COVID-19 crisis and set the region on a steady path for economic recovery and growth, Malaysian Prime Minister The Hon. Dato’ Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob call on all partners of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and China to strengthen cooperation in three areas, namely intensifying open trade and investment, strengthening the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, as well as exploring common initiatives such as cross-border travel bubble and quarantine arrangements, to consolidate the basis for future ASEAN-China cooperation.
The Prime Minister delivered his keynote speech via a pre-recorded video at the opening ceremony of the 18th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) on September 10 in Nanning, the capital Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
His Exellency Raja Dato’ Nushirwan Zainal Abidin, Ambassador of Malaysia to China also led Malaysian official delegation to attend the physical event.
Also present at the physical opening ceremony were Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan, Party Secretary of CPC Guangxi Committee Lu Xinshe, President of CCPIT Gao Yan, and ambassadors, diplomats from ASEAN Member Stats, Pakistan, and other country along the BRI.
This year's expo, held both online and offline and scheduled until September 13, is themed "sharing opportunities created by the new land-sea corridor, building the China-ASEAN community with a shared future."
