On 05 September 2024, Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail attended the official launching ceremony of the 6th Malaysia-China B2B Business Matching Session, at Wosheng Hotel, in Nanning. The ceremony also took place simultaneously in Kuala Lumpur and Beijing.

Co-hosted by Construction Bank of China (CCB), MATRADE and CAEXPO Secretariat, the two-day session was a key event ahead of the 21st CAEXPO. It featured over 291 enterprises, including 116 Malaysian and 175 Chinese companies, participating in 403 business meetings through CCB's "Match Plus" platform.

During the launching ceremony, H.E. Dato’ Seri Reezal Merican, Chairman of MATRADE and H.E Ouyang Yujing, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Malaysia delivered their remarks in Malaysia, while Mr. Sheng Liurong, CFO of CCB, and Mr. Liang Yiguang, Vice Secretary General of CAEXPO Secretariat addressed the event in Nanning.

Several MOUs involving Guangxi-Malaysia collaboration in areas of bird’s nest, durian and logistics were inked during the launching ceremony in Malaysia. There was also a knowledge sharing session on durian and bird’s nest by representatives from Malaysia International Durian Industry Development Association and Malaysia Swiftlet Nest Industry and Exporters Association.
