On 20 March 2025, the Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail participated in the opening ceremony of the 9th Topklout-World Influencer Summit, at the Topklout-World Park in Beihai.
The event was graced by H.E. Liao Pinhu, Vice Governor of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region where he emphasized the important role of new media in bridging economic cooperation and people-to-people connectivity for different countries and regions.
Boasted as the “Oscar” of China’s KOL economy, the event managed to bring together over 1000 excellent content creators at different social media platforms such as Douyin, Kuaishou, Weibo and RedNote, as well as over 50 influencers from ASEAN and other countries and representatives from leading Multi-Channel Networks (MCNs) to explore ways of further promoting the development of digital economy and e-commerce through new media. It also offered a platform for insightful discussions on unlocking KOL economy through the application of technology innovation.
During the event, the Consul General presented the awards to excellent international influencers that also includes influencers from Malaysia, namely Boss James, Jason_jezi, and Tiffany Moncherilive.
After the opening ceremony, the Consul General managed to engage with Mr. Li Meng, CEO of IMS New Media Business Group-the organizer of the event. Mr. Li Meng explained about China’s KOL economy and the company’s development plan in Beihai which will be the permanent host city of the Summit in the future.
The Consul General was also interviewed by a local media, where he commended Beihai’s efforts in advancing digital industry. He then stressed the needs of enhancing collaboration between Malaysia and China in areas of AI and digital economy. He also took the opportunity to promote Malaysia’s tourism, welcoming more visitors from China to visit Malaysia by taking the advantage of Visit Malaysia Year in 2026.
Also in attendance were Consuls General from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam, as well as senior officials from provincial and local government agencies.
