On 24 June 2024, Consul General Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail participated in the launching ceremony of the “Silk Road Link” railway cultural research camp, at Liuzhou Railway Vocational and Technical College.
During his speech, the Consul General commended the College’s active engagement with Malaysian learning institutions for training programmes especially on TVET. He highlighted the long-standing friendship between the two countries over the past five decades through mutual people-to-people exchanges at all levels. He also emphasized that Malaysia recognises China as one of the most important partners in the field of higher education.

Focusing on railway skill training and railway culture experience, the 8-day research camp starting from 22 to 29 June 2024 saw a total of 91 participants from Malaysia’s learning institutions and organizations, including Institut Latihan Perindustrian Kuantan, Pahang, Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur, Masjid Tanah Community College, Melaka, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah, University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, Masjid Tanah Community College, Malacca, UniKL MIDI Asia Rail Centre, Malaysia Rail Development Corporation, and youth representatives from Malaysian political party.
As the only higher vocational college in Guangxi with complete railway majors, Liuzhou Railway Vocational Technical College has worked with several Malaysian higher institutions and organizations in the cultivation of local railway technicians so as to serve Malaysia’s railway development, in particular for the East Coast Rail Link project.
