NANNING, 27 September 2019 – Tourism Selangor represented Malaysia for the – City of Charm exhibition in the 16th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) 2019, Nanning, China. It was launched by the Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Darell Leiking together with Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari, Exco of Culture and Tourism, Traditions and Malay Heritage of Selangor State, Consul General of Malaysia in Nanning, Chairman and CEO MATRADE and Mr. Liu Zhengdong, Vice Chairman of CPPCC Guangxi Committee on 20 September 2019.
Based on the statement by Selangor Tourism, nearly 842,000 Chinese Tourist had arrived in Selangor in the first half of 2019, an increase of 8.80% from the previous year. The figure is expected to grow primarily with the active participation of Selangor Tourism in the Convention and global tourism exhibitions such as CAEXPO 2019.
Through the Expo, Tourism Selangor had also introduced a variety of products and services in Selangor, particularly in culture, heritage, retail tourism as well as recreation.
Other agencies that participated included Kuala Selangor District Council, Hulu Selangor District Council and Sepang Municipal Council. On the other hand, private operators that joined the exhibition were Air Asia, Gamuda GM Klang Sdn Bhd, Skymirror Tour & Travel Sdn Bhd, and Sunflower Holidays Sdn Bhd.
