Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia, YBhg. Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar successfully concluded a working visit to Nanjing and Shanghai on 19 and 20 June 2026.
In Nanjing, he met with CRRC Nanjing Puzhen Co. to discuss the implementation of the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Comprehensive Inspection Train (CIT) for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project, which is scheduled to begin operations in January 2027.
While in Shanghai, he toured the Lianqiu Lake R&D Center, Huawei’s largest research and development facility globally, where he was briefed on its operations and key projects.
Additionally, he met with the Malaysian diaspora in Shanghai to strengthen ties and exchange views on current issues.
