The Consulate General of Malaysia in Xi’an hosted a Roundtable Dialogue on Palm Oil at the Sheraton Xi’an Hotel on 5 June 2026. The event was organised in collaboration with the Palm Oil Research and Technical Service Institute of the Malaysia Palm Oil Board (PORTSIM) and China Oils and Fats Magazine.
Ms. Farah Rakesh, Consul General in her opening remarks emphasising Malaysia’s dedication to a sustainable and responsible palm oil industry. She highlighted Malaysia’s efforts in environmental stewardship, social responsibility and technological innovation, underscoring that palm oil is now a vital component of healthier and more sustainable food solutions.
The programme featured insightful presentations from distinguished experts. Mr. Yoong Jun Hao, General Manager of PORTSIM, presented on “Navigating Market Trends, Challenges, and Research and Development and Commercialisation Opportunities for Value-Added Palm Oil Applications in China”.
Subsequently, Mr. Wang Gaoling, Senior Engineer of COFCO Engineering Technology (Xi'an) International Engineering Co., Ltd., discussed the “Chinese Market Situation and Outlook on Oils and Fats”.
