Finnish Defence Forces International Centre (FINCENT) has conducted 131 United Nations Military Observer Courses (UNMOC) since 1969, with over 5,200 officers from 99 different countries. UNMOC 2/2024 course is currently taking place from 19 May to 6 June 2025 of which Malaysia was invited to observe.
The aim of the course is to prepare Military Officers for service as UN Military Observers in any ongoing or future United Nations Peace Keeping Operations. Continuing this important UN training is an honour for FINCENT and a priviledge for the Malaysian Embassy Helsinki to participate.
Early in May 2025, Chargeé d'Affaires Ariff Ali welcomed Lieutenant Commander Muhammad Farid bin Mohd Zainuddin RMN whom participated in the UN Field Operation Security Management Training Programme, achieving a proud milestone as the first Malaysian to complete this specialised course
