APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION OF BIRTH OVERSEAS

WHOSE FATHER IS A MALAYSIAN CITIZEN.

 

Please note that a child must be registered within one (1) year of his / her birth.

 

1)       Please complete the Birth Registration Application Form (JPN.WN 02) in Bahasa

Malaysia using BLOCK LETTERS ONLY and submit with the following    documents  either in person or mail to:

2)        Original Extract of Birth of child/acknowledgement of birth from the hospital and Maistraatti and two (2) photocopies.

 

3)        Two (2) recent colored passport sized photographs of child with plain light blue or grey background only. Dimensions: 3.5cm X 5cm. The face should cover the entire photograph showing their features clearly. (Please note that photos by coin-operated machines are not acceptable).

 

4)        Original passport of parents and two (2) photocopies each of pages 1-7.

 

5)        Original Malaysian Identity card of parents and two (2) photocopies each of the front and back.  Please note that we no longer accept the old blue Malaysian Identity card.

 

6)        Original Malaysian Birth Certificate of parents and two (2) photocopies each.

 

7)        Original Malaysian Marriage Certificate and two (2) photocopies. (Please register with the Embassy, if your marriage is not registered under the Marriage and Divorce Act (1976) of Malaysia.

 

8)        Original Finnish ID Card/Permanent Resident (PR) page in the pasport/KELA of parents and two (2) photocopies each of the front and back.

 

9)        If you DO NOT possess a PR card, you are required to produce a Search Letter from the Finnish Directorate of Immigration (MIGRI) and/or Extract of Population from Maistraatti, confirming that you have not acquired Finnish Citizenship

 

10)      The fee is Euro 5.00 only. We accept payment by Cash, Postal Money Order or Bank Draft made payable to the EMBASSY OF MALAYSIA, HELSINKI.

 

11)      A self-addressed prepaid envelope for the return of your documents (applicable only if you want them mailed).  The Embassy of Malaysia will not be liable for any mail that is lost, misplaced or damaged during dispatch (Non applicable for those who come in person)

 

12)      Processing takes ten (10) bussiness days for all complete applications.

            Please note that all incomplete applications will be returned to the sender.
