Today the Malaysian Embassy Helsinki marked a meaningful transition in leadership with a Handing Over and Welcoming Ceremony from outgoing Chargé d’Affaires Mr. Ariff Ali to incoming Mr. Fadil Al-Adam.
The official signing of the Handing Over Notes was conducted in the spirit of continuity and shared commitment to strengthening Malaysia’s presence and protecting the interests of Malaysians in Finland, Estonia, and Latvia.
Mr. Ariff Ali took the opportunity to express his sincere appreciation to colleagues, friends, and the Malaysian diaspora for their support over the past four years. He also extended a warm welcome to Mr. Al-Fadil Adam and his family as they begin their new chapter in Helsinki.
In his remarks, Mr. Al-Fadil Adam expressed his appreciation to Mr. Ariff Ali and the Embassy team, and affirmed his dedication to continuing the mission’s work with integrity, energy, and a deep sense of purpose.
The occasion also acknowledged the vital role and close cooperation with Perwakilan Helsinki, with appreciation extended to outgoing Chair Mdm. Faizah Zainal Arifin, and a warm welcome, complete with a welcome basket, presented to incoming Chair Mdm. Siti Fateha Khairudin.
The ceremony concluded with a Makan-Makan session featuring a delicious Malaysian-Nordic style spread: biryani, suppilovahvero-mushroom sauce, kuih, blueberry pie, fruit cocktail, and teh tarik - a warm and flavourful welcome.
We take this opportunity to wish Mr Ariff Ali all the best in the next phase of his career back in Malaysia and wish Mr Al-Fadil Adam well in taking up his new role here in Finland.
As we embark on this new chapter, the Malaysian Embassy Helsinki remains committed to deepening bilateral ties and serving the Malaysian community in the region.
