On 8 March 2017, in conjunction with the 40th International Women’s Rights Day, Mr. Mohamad Razdan Jamil, Deputy Chief of Mission and Ms. Veliborka Marinkovic, Translator of the Embassy of Malaysia in Paris attended the "Oath of Paris for Women" event held at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Both the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, Jean-Marc Ayrault and the Minister for Families, Children and Women’s Rights, Laurence Rossignol, co-hosted two high-level roundtable sessions at the Quai d’Orsay.
These sessions brought together influential and ardent women personalities from Asia, Europe and the US to discuss the “universal right to sexual and reproductive health” as well as the “prevention, action and the reconstruction of the self: the challenges of combating violence against women”. The roundtable sessions were then closed by President François Hollande who presented the “Paris Pledge,” a text calling on the international community to remobilize its efforts in support of women’s rights against being victims of sexual, physical and psychological violence all over the world.
