His Excellency Tan Sri Ismail Omar, Ambassador of Malaysia to France attended the ‘Classe Export 2013’, a two-day trade exhibition, held in Lyon on 25 and 26 November 2013. H.E. Ambassador was accompanied by his wife Puan Sri Suriati Mohd Sobri and Ms. Zabidah Daud, Director of MIDA, Paris.
During the exhibition, a conference entitled “Malaysia: A strategic destination for French SMEs’ was held at the Malaysian Pavillon. The conference, graced by His Excellency Tan Sri Ismail Omar, was attended by Mr. Michael Lozach, Managing Director of the Malaysia French Chamber of Commerce (MFCCI), Malaysian Embassy officials and participated by more than 50 French business leaders. A presentation on ‘Malaysia Attractiveness’ was also made by Mr. François-Xavier Cosson, Associate Director of Interfab Solutions.
A networking cocktail, jointly organized by Mr. Régis Van Liefland, the Honorary Consul of Malaysia in Lyon and the Malaysia French Chamber of Commerce (MFCCI), supported by MIDA and MATRADE, was also held in conjunction of the trade exhibition. The cocktail, held at the premises of the Lyon Chamber of Commerce, was attended by His Excellency Tan Sri Ismail Omar and Puan Sri Suriati Md Sobri; Mr. Jean-Pierre Bono, the Honorary Consul of Malaysia in Marseille; captains of business and industry from the Lyon and Rhones-Alpes region; the Honorary Consuls of Thailand, South Korea, Cambodia and the Philippines in Lyon; Embassy of Malaysia officials; members of the Malaysian Students Association in France (MASAF) as well as the Malaysian community in Lyon (MALYON).
