COURTESY CALL ON H.E. MAURICE GOURDAULT-MONTAGNE, SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE FRENCH MINISTRY FOR EUROPE AND FOREIGN AFFAIRS

On 26 October 2017, H.E. Datuk Ibrahim Abdullah, Ambassador of Malaysia to France made a courtesy call on H.E. Maurice Gourdault-Montagne, Secretary General of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. This call is part of the ongoing efforts to be in regular contact with the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

 

During discussions, both sides expressed a desire to enhance cooperation and collaboration bilaterally in various fields such as but not limited to education, security, outreach programmes, and trade. France was also interested to elevate relations with the ASEAN region.

 

Before adjourning, H.E. Maurice Gourdault-Montagne provided an open invitation for Ambassador to visit the former so that relations would remain on an upward trajectory. Ambassador would later be given the same standing offer on the following day when he made a courtesy call to discuss similar issues with Mr. Thierry Mathou, Director of Asia and Oceania.
