Twenty Malaysian children studying at the International School of Paris participated at the “Journée des Cultures du Monde (World Cultural Day)” organised by the City Hall of Gretz-Armainvilliers on Sunday, 24 March 2013.

The children aged 7 to 15 years old, were all colourfully dressed in Malaysian traditional costumes at the event. The French guests were amazed by the children’s’ “tarian zapin”, “pencak silat” demonstration as well as the beating of the “kompang”, greeting them at the multi-purpose hall of the “Maison de la Culture et Loisirs” of Gretz-Armainvilliers.

It was also Malaysian Embassy’s first participation at the town’s annual event.  The Deputy Mayor and other local City Hall officials joined the local residents to witness the colourful and vibrant performance by the Malaysian children.
