The Embassy of Malaysia in Paris wishes to welcome H.E. Tan Sri Ismail Omar as the Ambassador of Malaysia designate to France. Tan Sri Ismail was appointed the Ambassador designate to France by Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah on 13 September 2013. H.E. Tan Sri Ismail Omar arrived in Paris on 01 October 2013.
Born in 1953, Tan Sri Ismail holds a law degree from the International Islamic University of Malaysia. He joined the Royal Malaysian Police in 1971 and was appointed as the Inspector-General of Police in September 2010. He retired from the force on 17 May, this year.
He is married to Puan Sri Suriati Md Sobri and they have two children.
