EXHIBITION BY MALAYSIAN ARTIST IN PARIS ART GALLERY  

 

 

A contemporary art exhibition by a Malaysian artist, Ken Yang was launched by H.E. Dato? S. Thanarajasingam, Ambassador of Malaysia to France at the Gallery Menouar in Paris on Saturday, January 17, 2009.

 

2.   The exhibition simply entitled ?Ken Yang? showcases contemporary art paintings and also the artist talent as a portrait painter. Ken Yang who graduated from the Malaysian Institute of Arts (MIA) and now lives and works in Paris had exhibited his works in this City of Lights since 2003.

 

3.   Ken Yang?s paintings are based on real models and reflect his quest for identity and fascination with European culture. ?Simplicity and purity are my style of paintings? he says. ?We need to find space for natural beauty from which we have drifted away as well as forced us into postmodern aesthetics. I therefore seek to reconstitute this lost space through my paintings?, he added. 

 

4.  Ken Yang? paintings have won numerous awards including the 32nd Painters Fair at Maison Lafitte in 2007; a gold award at the ComGraph Asia Pacific Digital Art Competition in 2002 and First Prize at the Glamour Photography competition in 1998.

 

5.  The exhibition at the Gallery Menouar, located at the posh 3rd district of Paris, will be held from January 17 to February 21 displays some of Ken Yang?s artistic inspiration.
