Malaysians in Paris, France on Hari Raya 2016 were treated to Open House at Rumah Malaysia, the official residence of the Ambassador of Malaysia to France.

Addressing the gathering of more than 300 guests to his home, the Ambassador, H.E. Dato’ Ibrahim Abdullah said, “Even when abroad, Malaysians  are  always  bound through our culture of unity, acceptance, and diversity. May the spirit of Hari Raya be the light on our path as we conduct ourselves in a manner that reflects glory towards our country that  is  moulded  after  the  universal,  timeless,  and  beautiful  messages  of our faith”.

Guests were visibly delighted with the Malaysian buffet of nasi minyak, ayam masak merah, ayam goreng berempah, rendang daging and satay, prepared by the Embassy especially for the event.

The Hari Raya event was the culmination of a month-long schedule of activities in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan. Other activities included iftar on 10, 17 and 24 June, with the last iftar held on 1 July 2016. Seen among the crowd at the iftar was singing sensation Dato’ Shake, who has a loyal following in France.

Also during this month of Ramadhan was the Bazaar organised by the Embassy of Malaysia on 25 June 2016. The Bazaar was well received, with around 300 guests patronising the Bazaar. On sale were Malaysian favourites, Nasi Lemak, Chicken Rice, Laksa Johor, Laksa Utara, and Roti Jala.
