INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND INDUSTRY MINISTER, YB DATO' SRI MUSTAPA MOHAMED LEADS TRADE MISSION TO FRANCE, 31 MARCH TO 1 APRIL 2011

"It had been a successful and rewarding visit.Thanks to everyone".That was the Minister`s parting statement before boarding the Malaysian Airline System flight (MAS) bound for Kuala Lumpur; an indication that he was happy with the outcome of  his visit. The Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia, the Hon. Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed arrived in Paris from Vienna (Austria) on Wednesday, 30 March 2011.  He was here leading the Ministry’s trade and investment mission to promote trade and investment opportunities in Malaysia.  Besides Paris, the other European cities covered by the delegation were Berlin and Vienna. The Malaysian Ambassador to France, His Excellency Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Zainal accompanied the Minister throughout the visit.

 

2.  While in Paris, the Hon. Minister met with Mr. Pierre Lellouche, the Secretary of State to the Minister of Economy , Finance and Industry, in charge of Foreign Trade at the latter’s office. The Hon. Minister also held several meetings with major French captain of industries  besides holding a Round Table Conference  attended by more than 30 major French companies to promote, discuss and exchange views on business potentials and opportunities in Malaysia.

  

3.  A dinner in honour of the Minister and delegation was hosted by Malaysian Ambassador at his Residence on Wednesday, 31 March. More than 100 guests comprising Malaysian professionals and students in France attended the dinner.    

 

The Minister left Paris on Friday, 1st April  2011.
