H.E. Tan Sri Ismail Omar, Ambassador of Malaysia to France, hosted a luncheon meeting with Mr. Gérard Miquel, Chairman of the France-Southeast Asia Friendship Group of the Senate on Tuesday, 16 June 2015. The luncheon was held at the l’Atelier de Joel Robouchon, a French gastronomy restaurant located at the well-known Champs Elysées avenue.
The Chairman of the Senate Friendship group was accompanied by three senators and officials of the Senate including Mr. Simon Sutour, Madam Bariza Khairi and Mr. Philippe Briault. Three of the Senators had visited Malaysia last April.
Also present were Mrs Laure d’Astorg and Mr Fréderic Perrin from the French Alliance for Sustainable Palm Oil as well as Dr Kalanithi Nesaratnam, Minister at the Embassy of Malaysia to the European Unions and Brussels.
During the luncheon H.E. Ambassador exchanged views and opinions with the Parliamentarians on the palm oil industry and other issues related to trade, education and tourism sectors between the two countries.
