A Family Day Picnic was held at the Île de loisirs de Cergy-Pontoise (Cergy-Pontoise Leisure Island) on 11 August 2018, and was participated by Home-Based Staff (HBS) in Paris and their family members. An array of Malaysian delicacies, such as Nasi Lemak and Bihun Goreng in addition to the national beverage – Teh Tarik were prepared and enjoyed by those present.
The small yet merry event saw the participants engaging in various activities at the Île de loisirs throughout the affair. While most of the socialising happened during the barbecue and feasting, many participants also took to themselves to explore the 250 hectares of public space in groups. The Île de loisirs also boasts an artificial sandy beach, a water ski lift, a surf wave and various other sporting amenities.
The family day picnic met its objective to strengthen the bond among family members of the HBS. It was also an opportunity for the kids to mingle and enjoy a healthy outdoor activity away from the city.
