On 20 January 2020, Y.M. Tengku Dato’ Dr. Hishammuddin Zaizi, Prince of Selangor, represented Malaysia as one of the guests of honour at the 34th Oriental Fashion Show, held at Carrousel du Louvre in Paris. Held in conjunction with Paris Fashion Week, the event saw Malaysia shining brightly as the only Southeast Asian nation represented on the runway. The star that brought fame to Malaysia that evening is our very own fashion designer, Gina Frias – who showcased bold yet elegant design for all to marvel.

The Oriental Fashion Show was founded by the famous French-Moroccan designer Hind Joudar to highlight Eastern influences in the realm of haute couture. Held in Marrakech, London and Baku – this was the first time the Oriental Fashion Show was held in Paris.

Other countries that managed to blind the night with their wonderful designs that evening were Azerbaijan, Egypt, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Moldova Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkestan and Uzbekistan.
