The French public would finally be able to sample Malaysian street food and gastronomy at the Malaysian Pavillion located at the 2nd Paris Cookbook Fair (Festival du Livre Culinaire). The Cookbook Fair takes place from 3 to 6 March 2011 at the 104-Centquatre exhibition centre in Paris.
In conjunction with the Fair, a cultural evening entitled 'Extravagance of the Cultures of Malaysia', jointly organized by the Embassy of Malaysia and Tourism Malaysia, will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 at the Maisons des Associations de Solidarités in the 13th arrondissement of Paris.
His Excellency Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Zainal, the Malaysian Ambassador to France and wife, Puan Sri Rositah Mohd. Mawi will be the guests of honour at these two events.
For the second consecutive year, the Paris Cookbook Fair will be the host of many cooking and kitchen professionals as well as more than 200 publishers from all over the world.
French gourmands and gourmets will be able to visit the Malaysian pavilion that includes seven street stalls featuring Malaysia’s best street food and gastronomy prepared by Perwakilan Ladies under the guidance of Puan Sri Rositah Mohd. Mawi, President of Perwakilan and wife of the Malaysian Ambassador to France. A troupe of dancers from Malaysia will also entertain the visitors at the Fair.
To' Puan Rosita, author of the book "Kulit Manis, A taste of Terengganu’s Heritage” will be present and share her food memories of Terengganu and recipes.
The ‘Food Ambassador of Malaysia’, Datuk Chef Wan will make a cuisine demonstration on Thursday, March 3 at 11 a.m. in the Pavilion of International Cuisine. Chef Wan was also invited by the prestigious Ecole de Cordon Bleu to make a Malaysian cuisine demonstration on March 1st 2011.
