Malaysian students are going to be trained in extracting raw materials

from perfume plants in Grasse

Mr. Philippe Massé, Chairman of the French National Trade Association of the Industry of Perfumery (PRODAROM) received on 12 October 2015 a Malaysian delegation from BiotechCorp  in his Grasse office.

PRODAROM is a professional association whose members are French manufacturers of  raw materials and fragrance compounds for the perfume industry.

BiotechCorp is an offshoot of the Malaysian Ministry of Finance, tasked with developing the ‘Perfume plants and cosmetics applications’ sector.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Grasse Institute of Perfumery (GIP), BiotechCorp and University Malaysia Pahang.

The Malaysians, who have large perfume plants resources, have yet to master the extraction of raw materials techniques.

This agreement will thus allow Malaysia to have Malaysian students trained, over several years, in this technique partly in Grasse but also in Malaysia where French experts will be sent.
