The Malaysian Association in France (MAF) feted the “Year of the Rabbit” with a lively high-tea on Sunday, 6 February 2011. The high-tea was held in a Parisian restaurant located at the prestigious Champs Elysées area.
2. The event graced by H.E. Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Zainal, Ambassador of Malaysia to France and wife Puan Sri Rositah Md Mawi, was attended by more than 100 Malaysians in Paris together with their families and friends, staff of the Embassy and Malaysian agencies as well as Malaysian students in Paris.
3. The highlight of the Chinese New Year celebration were the “Yee Sang” tossing followed by the various dishes and savories served giving the celebration a festive ambiance of the Malaysian multicultural society.
4. The finale of the event was a lucky draw offering many attractive prizes including an air ticket to Kuala Lumpur contributed by Malaysia Airlines, Air Asia and other MAF corporate members such as DK-Schweizer, Matrade, Tourism Malaysia, MIDA and Vacation Borneo.
5. The Chinese New Year celebration indeed did not only meet the objective of the Association to bring Malaysians together but would also spread the word on Malaysia’s beauty and uniqueness as a multi-cultural and multi-religious country notably to the French people.
