At the invitation of the French Government, the Honourable Dato’ Sri Anifah Aman, Foreign Minister of Malaysia to France, participated in the Ministerial Conference on peacekeeping in the French-speaking environment co-chaired by Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development; and Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister of Defence. The Conference was held in Paris on October 26-27, 2016.
The conference was a good opportunity for all participating countries including Malaysia and France to renew their focus on the challenges faced by peacekeeping missions in Francophone areas. The main ideas and suggestions discussed are building blocks towards our collective efforts to enhance and strengthen peacekeeping missions. This in effect is a key element to ensure international peace and security is maintained.
