On 22 March 2018, the French Ministry of Agriculture and Food invited the Embassies of Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam to the opening meeting on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) cooperation with France. Technical experts from the selected Southeast Asian countries were then involved in the ensuing discussions on intensifying the said cooperation.
In her opening remarks Ms. Stéphanie FLAUTO, Director of the Department for international and European sanitary affairs, highlighted that France has had success in addressing the reduction of AMR in the veterinary sector and is interested to share their experience.
All sides expressed confidence that the discussions on AMR reduction would pave the way for deeper cooperation and exchanges on this issue.
