(LE FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DU LIVRE CULINAIRE PARIS, 7-11 MARS 2012)
The French public had the opportunity to discover the authentic taste of Borneo ethnic cuisine at the recent 3rd Paris Cookbook Festival (Festival du Livre Culinaire 2012) held at the Le Centquatre (104) exhibition centre in Paris from 7th to 11th March 2012.
The Malaysian Pavillon, officiated on the 8th of March by His Excellency Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Zainal, Ambassador of Malaysia to France, promoted Malaysia to be the destination choice by French tourists through culinary traditions and heritage from Sabah and Sarawak.
In conjunction with the Fair, a ‘Press Event Cooking Demonstration’ orchestrated and hosted by ‘Food Ambassador of Malaysia’ Datuk Chef Wan was held with cocktail menus prepared by Chef Johon Sinam from Sabah and Chef Abdul Halim Abu Hassan from Holiday Villa Hotels and Resorts. The event was sponsored by Sabah Tourism Board, AirAsiaX as well as Holiday Villa Hotels and Resorts. Among the mouth-tempting cocktails prepared by the Chefs were Laksa Sarawak, Pinarasakan Daging, Ambuyyat, Kolok Mee, Umai Udang, Dayak Black Pepper Stew and Sinamu.
A cultural troupe hailed all the way from Kuala Lumpur by Pak Ngah’s Production also entertained the French visitors at the Fair.
For the third consecutive year, the Paris Cookbook Fair was the host of many cooking and kitchen professionals as well as more than 200 publishers from all over the world.

Le public français a pu découvrir le goût authentique de la cuisine ethnique de Bornéo au cours du 3ème Festival international du livre culinaire, qui s'est déroulé au Centquatre (104) à Paris du 7 au 11 mars 2012.
Inauguré le 8 mars par l'Ambassadeur de Malaisie en France S.E. Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Zainal, le pavillon malaisien était dédié à la promotion de la Malaisie en tant que destination touristique au travers des traditions culinaires et du patrimoine des Etats de Sabah et Sarawak.
A l'occasion de ce Festival, une démonstration culinaire publique a été organisée par l'ambassadeur de la gastronomie malaisienne Datuk Chef Wan, au cours de laquelle des amuse-bouches, préparés par le Chef Johon Sinam de Sabah et le Chef Abdul Halim Abu Hassan des hôtels Holiday Villa, ont été servis. L'événement était sponsorisé par l'office du tourisme de Sabah, AirAsiaX et les hôtels Holiday Villa. Les Chefs ont notamment servis de succulents laksa Sarawak, pinarasakan daging, ambuyyat kolok mee, umai udang, dayak black pepper stew et sinamu.
Venue spécialement de Kuala Lumpur, une troupe culturelle des Productions Pak Ngah a également diverti les visiteurs français du Festival.
Pour sa troisième édition, le Festival international du livre culinaire a accueilli de nombreux professionnels de la gastronomie et de la cuisine, ainsi que plus de 200 éditeurs du monde entier.
