TRADE, INVESTMENT AND TOURISM PROMOTION VISIT TO MONACO - 5 TO 7 JULY 2012

H.E. Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Zainal, Ambassador of Malaysia to France led a trade,investment and tourism promotion visit to Monaco from 5 to 7 July 2012. The objective of the visit was to increase awareness as well as to promote investment opportunities and tourism in Malaysia. H.E. Ambassador was accompanied by Ms Astanah Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Chief of Mission; Ms Diana Talit, Trade Counsellor of Matrade Paris; Ms Balkish Yassin, Director of Mida Paris and Mr. Abdul Rahim Haron, Director of Tourism Malaysia Paris.    

 

During the visit, H.E. Ambassador attended the ‘Ambassador’s Lunch’, hosted by the Monaco Chamber of Economic Development (CDE) held at the Le Meridien Plaza on Thursday, July 5th 2012. The luncheon was attended by  40 distinguished guests comprising members of the CDE and Monegasque business leaders. H.E. Ambassador gave a 30-minute presentation on trade, tourism and investment opportunities in Malaysia followed by a Q & A session.

 

H.E.Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Zainal, Ambassador of Malaysia to France, also presented the official appointment  of Mr. Gildo Pallanca  Pastor, the new Honorary Consul of Malaysia to Monaco on 5th July 2012. The ceremony was held at the office of the Honorary Consul in Monaco.

 

For Monaco, Malaysia represents a new potential destination and the guests were delighted to learn of Malaysia’s economic development. The meeting with the Monegasque business community had indeed attracted keen interests by Monaco to further enhance relations with Malaysia especially in the economic and tourism sectors. Furthermore, the positive response by the members of the CDE of Monaco and key business figures during the Ambassador’s luncheon was an indication that there were potentials to be explored between the two countries.
