VISIT OF YB MINISTER OF TRANSPORT TO PARIS
FROM 17 TO 20 JUNE 2007
A tight schedule awaits the Hon. Minister of Transport, Dato? Sri Chan Kong Choy, on his arrival in Paris on Sunday, 17 June 2007. The Hon. Minister was here to attend the Paris Air Show, which will be held from 18 to 24 June 2007 at Le Bourget in Paris.
2. In the evening of his arrival, the Hon. Minister launched the LIMA 2007 - Langkawi Air Show reception at the Hilton Arc de Triomphe Hotel organised by the World Aerospace Sdn. Bhd, the organiser of the LIMA 2007. Also present at the reception were the Hon. Dato? Haji Zainal Abdin bin Haji Zin, the Deputy Minister of Defence; H.E. Dato? S. Thanarajasingam, Ambassador of Malaysia to France; General Tan Sri Dato? Sri Azizan bin Ariffin, Chief of Air Force; Dato? Jasbil Singh, Deputy Secretary of Defence and Tan Sri Dato? Kamaruzzaman Shariff, Chairman of World Aerospace Sdn. Bhd. Attended by 150 persons comprising captains of the defence industries and members of the media, the reception was part of the effort by World Aerospace Sdn. Bhd to woo French defence industries to participate in the Lima 2007 ? Langkawi Air Show to be held from 4 to 8 December this year.

3. During his visit at the Paris Air show, the Hon. Minister will witness the official signing ceremony of two French defence industries, Thales and Eurocopter?s participation in LIMA 2007. The Hon. Minister will also visit the Russian pavilion and Dassault Falcon?s pavilion at the Air Show.
4. On Monday evening, The Hon. Minister will attend a reception jointly hosted by Mr. Alain Juppé, the French Minister of State (also Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Town and Country Panning) and Mr. Dominique Bussereau, Secretary of State, responsible for Transport of France, attached to the Minister of State. The reception will be followed by a dinner in honour of the Hon. Minister hosted by H. E Ambassador Dato? S. Thanarajasingam.
5. The Hon. Minister will make a courtesy call on Mr. Dominique Bussereau at Le Bourget on Tuesday, 19 June 2007 to exchange bilateral and other issues. The meeting will be followed by an exhibition tour of the Air Show. The Hon. Minister will also meet the representatives of Thales before witnessing Air Asia?s signing ceremony at Le Bourget.
7. The Hon. Minister will leave Paris for his official visits to Dusseldorf, Germany on Wednesday, 20 June 2007 as well as Madrid and Barcelona in Spain on 21 June 2007.
